Hi there! My name is Kirsti and I am the girl behind Not You History. This blog started as a creative outlet for myself when I left a path that wasn’t right for me in university and was trying to figure out where to go next. It then became my favourite hobby and a great tool for practicing the design, photography and writing skills that my Public Relations program required. Now, I am what they call a “twenty-something” moving on to my next chapter of life. By day, I am an event planner (among other things) at a college. At night and on weekends, I’m diligently trying to figure out this thing called life and filling you in on it through my little corner of the Internet.
A lot has changed since starting this blog but many things that make me tick are the same. I am obsessed with food, concerts, entertainment, Disney, pugs, my friends and my family – among many other things. Recently, I have discovered that travel bug that seems to occur quite frequently within my generation.
When I sit down and think about what I want this blog to be, much of the thought comes from my favourite British custom – a cuppa tea. Being offered a cup of tea is so much more than a hot beverage. I like to think of it as an invitation to the comfort of an intelligent conversation – the kind where both sides listen, make an impact, and leave feeling better about the world. This conversation is the kind I share regularly with my closest friends and the kind that I hope to share with you through this blog.
Life in your twenties is interesting – it can feel very lonely at times or stressful. Many people I know are still working very hard to figure out what they should do in life. Here’s a secret: I don’t think anyone really ever knows that answer for very long. Here you will find a collection of life, work and balance. Not Your History is a collection of thoughts, stories and items that cross my mind on this very interesting journey – I hope it is one you will join me on.
What would you like in your tea?
